Operated by the YMCA Outdoor Education Program, our Ocean Air 6th graders are scheduled to attend Camp Martson, a mountain retreat in Julian, the week of November 6-9th.
The four day camp is part of our regular school offerings and provides science education & enrichment. Students benefit from working with science/outdoor education program specialists during the entire week. Our sixth grade teachers will accompany the students while at camp.
This opportunity is available through joint efforts of the YMCA Outdoor Education Program & Del Mar Union School District. The District’s goal is to have all 6th grade students participate. No student will be excluded due to nonpayment of the fee. In addition to district sponsorship, donations from parents make this opportunity possible. A donation of $335.00 per student will defray the following camp expenditures: Tuition/program to YMCA Outdoor Education, Insurance, Meals, Supervision, & transportation fees to/from camp.
To donate to your child’s camp week, please make check payable to Del Mar Union School District-Camp Fund (DMUSD-Camp Fund) in the amount of $335.00. Be sure to write your child’s name on the front of check. If you choose to send cash, please take it directly to the school office. To request a scholarship/partial scholarship for your child, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office regarding scholarship info. If you should provide additional funding to sponsor/partially sponsor another child, please let your child’s teacher or front office know.
