School Supplies Drive for Foster Kids!
Our school is teaming up with Promises2Kids to provide school supplies for foster kids in San Diego County. Promises2Kids creates a brighter future for foster kids in San Diego county. They work with various centers, including the Polinsky Center, to provide services to San Diego foster youth from infancy to adulthood. Please consider ordering supplies for Promises2Kids while placing your order for next year. The PTA will be collecting your donated new and unused supplies during the first week of school. Our students will have the opportunity to assemble these supplies in backpacks during lunch recess.

Halloween Candy Drive to Support Our Troops!
Bring your excess, unopened Halloween Candy to school and drop it in one of our collection bins in front of school. All donated candy will be included in care packages that Operation Gratitude sends to American troops overseas. Operation Gratitude annually sends care packages to troops deployed overseas to lift their spirits and meet their needs. They also encourage letters/notes/drawings telling our troops that “We Care”.
Our children will be working on these notes in class. The notes and candy, along with other essentials, goes in care packages to add a smile to a U.S. Soldier and show our gratitude for all that they do!
Please send in your extra unopened candy November 2-3, 2017 – collection boxes and School Council members will be at school gates at drop-off. Volunteers are needed to sort and pack candy.

Blankets for Project Linus!
We are excited to announce the opportunity for our students to make blankets for Project Linus.  Project Linus is a national organization that provides quality homemade blankets to children ages 0 to 18 who are terminally ill, in foster care, or in need.  The blankets our children make will be distributed in the San Diego North Costal region from Clairemont to Oceanside, including Camp Pendleton.  Students can join us in the MUR at lunch recess in January 2018 to lend a helping hand. No sign-up or blanket-making experience needed.

Please contact Suchita Jariwala or Alison Gaconnet to volunteer or for any questions on the above programs.
